Thermarest Neoair Xtherm NXT Sleeping Pad
Founded in the ’70s by two Boeing engineers-turned-avid backpackers, self-inflating mattress brand ThermaRest has expanded over the decades to include camping chairs, hammocks, and more.
We’ve been fans of their high-end lightweight sleeping bags for years, and love their sustainable use of recycled and certified responsible down elements.
Their ultralight NeoAir XTherm NXT Sleeping Pad boasts the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any sleeping pad ever made, weighing just 15.5 oz and using Refined Triangular Core Matrix construction and ThermaCapture technology to fight off the cold.
The horizontal baffle structure of this 3-inch thick sleeping pad makes it ultra-comfortable on the back, and we love the quick one-way inflation and deflation afforded by the WingLock Valve.
ENO DoubleNest Hammock Print & Atlas Straps
Based in Asheville NC, Eagles Nest Outfitters has been one of our favorite outdoor brands for years.
Not just because of the great products they create, but also because of their pledge (through 1% for the Planet) to donate 1% of their annual sales to support NGOs focused on environmental conservation.
Their DoubleNest Hammock makes a great gift for outdoorsy couples. Made from durable, quick-drying FreeWave 70D Nylon and Anodized 7075 Aluminum, it measures 9’6″ L x 6’4″ W, and holds up to 400 lbs.
We love the colorful print options, breathable fabric, and the integrated stuff sack with internal stash pocket, which compresses to a packed size of just 6″ x 4″ x 5″. Note that Atlas Straps are sold separately.
WeatherPod Megapod + Roof Cover
Founded as “Under the Weather” in Cincinnati in 2010, WeatherPod offers unique pop-up pods designed for tailgaters, campers, and anyone else who wants to be protected from the elements.
As seen on Shark Tank, their pods come in array of colors, sizes, and styles (including mesh & clear plastic sides), all of which are made to pop up and fold down in a matter of seconds.
The 58″ x 58″ MegaPod is their largest option, large enough for 2 to 4 people, and available with 3 or 4 clear plastic sides to protect you from the cold, wind, rain, or snow.
It offers 21.78 sq ft of floor space, weighs just 12 pounds, and packs down into a handy carrying case. You can also add a customizable roof cover for just $25!
BACKPACKS
Finisterre + Gregory Stout 45
Finisterre is a sustainable fashion brand based in the UK and aimed at surfers and other outdoor adventurers. Their collaboration with Gregory, one of our favorite backpack manufacturers, definitely has them on our “brands to watch” radar!
The Stout 45‘s sleek style should be obvious from the photo above.
But there’s also plenty of substance, including 300D 100% recycled polyester ripstop, 420D 100% polyamide base, a DWR coating with no PFAs, and a wishbone alloy frame to keep the load steady.
Other fine features include Versa-fit adjustable torso length, FitTune Hipbelt with large pockets,
pull out rain cover, 3D foam back panel, U-zip main opening, and lots of pockets and compartments for stashing your stuff.
Cotopaxi Allpa 50L Adventure Travel Pack
Known for their philanthropic-minded tagline, “Gear For Good,” this sustainable brand based in Salt Lake City, Utah strives to effect positive global change with their outdoor gear.
Named after one of the world’s tallest active volcanoes, Cotopaxi dedicates at least 1% of revenue to NGOs that reduce inequality in Latin America through health care, education, and livelihood.
Their Allpa 50L Adventure Travel Pack is actually 2 packs in one: The top can be zipped off to become an 8-liter Sling Bag perfect for day hikes and city tours.
The main bag’s cool features include an adjustable torso, contoured back panel, padded (and tuckable!) hip straps, and tons of zippered organizational pockets, including ones designed for a laptop, bottles, and quick-access accessories.
Osprey Women’s Tempest 22 Backpack
Made with bluesign® APPROVED, 100% recycled nylon, the Osprey Tempest 22 is a wonderful women’s backpack that proves great things do come in small packages.
Weighing in at 2.27 pounds and measuring 20.1″ x 11.4″ x 11.4″, it’s got a breathable AirScape back panel and a continuous-wrap harness and hip belt designed to move with a woman’s form.
Abundant storage options include top panel zippered stash pocket, dual-zippered hipbelt pockets,
side stretch mesh pockets, a large stretch mesh front panel pocket, and an internal mesh pocket with key clip.
Other cool features include an internal hydration reservoir sleeve and trekking pole, ice axe, and bike helmet attachments that make this a perfect pack for multi-sport enthusiasts.
Orvis Bug-Out Backpack
Founded in Vermont back in 1856, Orvis has been one of the biggest names in the outdoor retail space longer than most of us have been alive, with around 40 retails stores across the USA.
And though they specialize in high-end fly fishing, hunting, and sporting goods, the brand has crossed over into the mainstream travel space, offering versatile gear that works well for myriad purposes.
For example, their 25-liter Bug-Out Backpack, made with 100% recycled ECO CORDURA, is designed for fly fishermen. But it works equally well for hiking, camping, or as a carryon pack for air travel.
There are top and side-entry access to an internal zippered drop pocket with a removable divider for storage options. An external pocket can hold a rod tube or water bottle, while the padded front pocket can hold a hydration bladder or laptop.
All in all it’s a great bag, with lots of other cool features!
Matador Beast 18 Ultralight Technical Backpack
Further proof that big things can come in small packages, the Beast 18 Ultralight Technical Backpack from Matador is a tiny 18-liter daypack that’s stuffed to the gills with features.
Designed for quick day-hikes where keeping it light is important, this flexible frame pack (made with Bluesign®-approved sustainable fabrics) weighs just 21 oz, but can carry surprisingly heavy loads.
Noteworthy features include a hydration compatible main compartment with wrap-around zipper, 2 side water bottle pockets, a removable hip belt, and breathable, padded mesh shoulder straps & back panel.
We also love the two internal pockets with key loop for small items, external gear loops f(or attaching hiking poles, ice axes, etc), and the compression sack for packing it down into a larger bag.
Gregory Maya 25L
Founded in San Diego by backpack designer Wayne Gregory in 1977, Gregory Mountain Products was built on the idea that “Great packs should be worn, not carried.”
Their technical backpacks were designed to last for a lifetime of adventures, and Gregory pioneered new construction techniques and suspension systems that made them popular with hikers around the world.
Their Maya 25L is a great little daypack designed for a woman’s body, with BioSync suspension to center the weigh, a 3D foam backpanel to keep you cool, and an adjustable torso length to ensure a perfect fit.
We love the abundant pockets (hip belt, top access, front and dual side stretch mesh, zippered pocket with SpeedClip hydration hanger) and the breathable, padded shoulder harnesses for comfort.
5.11 Tactical LVC Covert Carry Pack 45L
Named for the toughest difficulty rating on the rock-climbing scale created by outdoor adventure legend Royal Robbins, 5.11 Tactical was founded in Modesto CA in 1992.
Its stated mission is to “make purpose-built gear for those who demand more of themselves, for the greater good.” So it’s no surprise the brand is beloved by people in the law enforcement, military, and public safety sectors.
Their LVC Covert Carry Pack 45L was designed for concealed carry: Its dedicated weapon compartment has a reinforced muzzle pocket with adjustable divider, web loops, and two rifle retention straps.
But you don’t need to be a gun owner to appreciate features such as their signature Center Line design, aluminum frame, HDPE board with closed cell foam padded back panel, tons of internal and external storage options (including padded laptop sleeve), and quick release shoulder straps with removable sternum strap.
HIKING BOOTS & WALKING SHOES
HOKA Mens Kaha 3 GTX
Founded in France in 2009 by two former Salomon employees who wanted to design a shoe that allowed for faster downhill running, HOKA (the Maori word for “to fly”) became immensely popular with runners due to their cushiony oversized outsoles.
Now based in California and owned by Deckers (home to UGG and Teva), they’ve been our favorite athletic shoes for years due to their uniquely stylish shoe designs and exceptional comfort.
Their Mens Kaha 3 GTX is aimed squarely at adventurous hikers and redesigned for the long haul, with a superbly cushioned sockliner and a bouncy EVA midsole that keeps a spring in your step even after a full day on the trail.
Other noteworthy features include an Achilles-friendly heel collar to relieve pressure, a durable toe cap, and a durable Vibram Megagrip outsole that offers excellent
Salomon X Ultra 5 Mid GTX
If you’re looking for relatively lightweight hiking boots (16 oz each) designed for agility and stability on the trail, Salomon’s X Ultra 5 Mid Gore-Tex is a great choice.
Available in 5 colors, they’re incredibly durable, with a rugged Matryx upper, stitched construction, and Gore-Tex waterproofing to protect your feet from everything the trail throws at you.
We also love that the Advanced Chassis keeps your feet stable without limiting mobility, while the Contagrip outsole offers exceptional traction even on wet, muddy, or rocky terrains.
Beyond that, it’s just a stylishly designed shoe, and comfortable enough to wear every day, even on more urban adventures.
Teva Hurricane Daybreaker Mid Hiking Boots & Slip-Ons
Available in low, mid, and slip-on styles for men and women, Teva’s new Daybreaker collection is an expansion of its ever-popular Hurricane franchise.
Offered in 4 colors, the Mid Hiking Boots feature a moisture-wicking Rapid Proof membrane to keep feet dry, durable ankle support to keep you stable, and a Spider Rubber outsole with toothy traction lugs to prevent slippage. We also love that they’re made with LWG-certified sustainable leather.
Their Daybreaker Mid Slip-Ons come in 2 colors and are made for casual daily wear. Made with LWG-certified suede, their features include a soft scuba lining for comfort, an easy on/off closure system, and the same grippy Spider Rubber outsole as their boots.
Depending on what sort of walking/hiking you’re planning on doing, both make great gifts!
KURU Women’s ATOM Trail & Men’s RIDGE Motion
KURU is a popular shoe brand among people with Plantar Fasciitis and other foot problems, with design elements that help improve posture and provide next-level cushioning for your feet.
The ATOM Trail is a lightweight version of their most popular sneaker. It’s designed for hikers, with the soft comfort, rigid structure, and superior arch support the brand is known for. The heel-hugging support of their KURUSOLE is very cushiony, absorbing impact on even the toughest trails.
Their RIDGE Motion is an even more rugged and durable men’s hiking shoe, with the same responsive heel cushioning and fatigue-fighting shock absorption of the ATOM Trail shoe. But it adds their advanced tread yet, with multi-directional lugs that offer superior stability and traction.
Mykos Lennon Men’s Lace-up Hiker Boot
If you’re look for a more casual hiking shoe that’s functional enough for the trail, but also fashionable enough to wear to dinner, the Lennon Men’s Lace-Up Hiker Boot from Mykos fits the bill.
It’s made from soft nubuck leather, which is similar to suede but stronger and more durable, and gives the stylish boots an upscale, almost velvety look.
The removable molded Ortholite foam footbed makes them very comfortable for long days on your feet, while the rugged ARO (Advanced Response Outsole) tech EVA outsole provides great traction on uneven terrain.
We also love the Hydrogaard water and stain resistant technology, which protects your feet (and the shoes themselves) from the elements.
Salewa Men’s Pedroc 2 Leather Mid Powertex Boot
The Salewa story dates back to 1935, when Josef Liebhart, director of Munich’s co-op for saddlers and tapestry handlers, registered a corporation for saddler and leather wares. Salewa= Saddle Leather Wares.
Their line expanded over the decades, incorporating everything from backpacks and ski poles to soccer balls. By 2001 they were focusing on lightweight Alpine products, and in 2005 they established a new footwear division.
The Pedroc 2 Leather Mid Powertex is a lightweight hiking shoe designed for speed in mountain environments, with a suede leather upper, a PFAS-free waterproof Powertex membrane for protection from the elements, and reflective detailing for nighttime visibility.
Other cool features include a huge cushioning EVA midsole that offers excellent rebound, a firm EVA plate for stability on the trail, and a Pomoca outsole that provides fantastic traction on uneven or slippery ground.
CLOTHING
Royal Robbins Palisades 1/2 Zip Fleece & Snowcap Lined Flannel
Named after its iconic founder, who pioneered the “clean rock climbing” ethos of the 1960s, Royal Robbins is one of the sustainable clothing brands we wear most often.
Though the respected adventurer passed away in 2017, the brand he and wife Liz founded in 1967 remains strong, adhering to sustainable manufacturing and Fair Trade principles.
Our favorite pieces in their 2025 collection include the Women’s Palisades 1/2 Zip Fleece, whose high loft sherpa and low pile fleece offers softness and thermoregulating warmth in cold climates. Mary loves the cozy material, stretch binding, and multiple pockets.
I’m a big fan of their Men’s Snowcap Lined Flannel, which features a breathable stretch cotton outside, a breathable recycled poly fleece liner, and a classic plaid print that’s available in 4 different color combos.
Duluth Trading AKHG Boundary Line Fleece Pants & Popover Hoodie
Founded in 1989 by brothers Bob and Dave Fierek as a construction tool company in Duluth MN, the Duluth Trading Co. has changed ownership and focus several times over the last 35 years.
They really hit their stride after going national in 2011, proving to be one of the few physical stores that managed to thrive with expansion during the “retail apocalypse” of mid-2010s. They now have 60+ locations across the country.
Their AKHG Boundary Line collection is a great mid-layer for camping and hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The tapered Boundary Line Fleece Pants have a stretchy 4-way fabric with water repellant finish, a warm fleece interior, and elastic waist and cuffs, with 2 zip front pockets.
Mary also loves their comfy Boundary Line Popover Hoodie, which uses the same stretchy, warm, water-repellant fabric, with a 3-piece adjustable hood, a kangaroo pocket and zip pocket for your essentials, and elastic sleeve cuffs and side panels to ward off the cold.
Icebreaker Descender Long Sleeve Zip Jacket & 200 Oasis LS Crewe
As a warm-blooded Georgia native, I never fully understood the value of base layers until we began traveling to extremely cold destinations like Norway, Alaska, and Antarctica.
Founded in 1995, the New Zealand-based Icebreaker was one of the clothing brands that popularized base layers made from soft, warm merino wool, and they remain at the forefront of their field today.
Their Women’s Merino Blend Descender Long Sleeve Zip Jacket is made with RealFleece– ultra-soft brushed merino wool that provides warmth without weight. Mary loves the sleeve thumb loops, zippered chin guard and pockets, and drop-tail hem for added coverage.
As someone who usually burns hot, I’m a fan of their Men’s 200 Oasis LS Crewe, a light, breathable 100% merino wool jersey featuring gusseted underarms for mobility, offset shoulder seams to reduce friction, and naturally odor-resistant fibers.
Mozy
Cold is one of the main things that prevent people from wanting to be outside in the Winter, especially when it comes to sitting around a campground.
But the Mozy is one of those crazy “Why didn’t anyone think of that before?!?” creations that makes fighting off the chill as simple as fastening a velcro strap.
Made with a cozy fleece-lined interior and weather-resistant exterior made of either nylon (regular Mozy) or stretch polyester (the more breathable SoftShell Mozy), it’s essentially like a thermal wrap-around jacket for the lower half of your body.
We love that it’s windproof and adjustable, so you can open it to the waist for cooling and mobility, to your knees for more warmth, or to the ankles for complete protection when sitting still.
OUTERWEAR
Cotopaxi Fuego Down Hooded Jacket
Cotopaxi was launched in 2014, when founder Davis Smith moved from Brazil to Utah and decided to start a B Corp Certified brand that could help address the poverty he saw while growing up in Latin America.
In addition to backpacks, duffel bags, and other camping and hiking gear, Cotopaxi has emerged as a leader in outdoor clothing, all made using bold colors, fair labor practices, and transparent sourcing of materials.
Their cozy Fuego Down Hooded Jacket is made from 100% recycled DWR-finished shell and responsibly sourced 800-fill down, and comes in an array of bold color combos and solids for women and men.
Mary loves the snug fit of the Scuba hood and adjustable hem, as well as the 2 zippered hand pockets, 2 interior pockets, and the fact that the whole thing packs down into an internal pocket for easy packing!
Salomon Mountain Flex Jacket
Salomon is based in the French Alps, just over 20 miles south of Geneva, Switzerland. So it’s safe to say they know a thing or two about how to dress for cold climates.
They have plenty of down jackets and puffers designed for extreme climate conditions, but their Mountain Flex Jacket is a more breathable jacket (available in men’s and women’s sizes) that’s perfect for hiking and other outdoor adventures.
Weighing in at just 13oz, it’s filled with lightweight PrimaLoft synthetic insulation, with a breathable stretch knit liner inside and DWR ripstop protection outside.
Mary especially loves the jacket’s ClimateSync venting technology, which opens cuts in the insulation as you move to let moisture escape and closes when you stop to help you stay warm.
Backcountry Cottonwoods GORE-TEX Shell Jacket
Invented in 1969 by the father/son team of Wilbert & Robert Gore, GORE-TEX is a lightweight, breathable, waterproof fabric membrane that changed the game for hiking boots, jackets, and other outdoor adventure gear.
The durable Backcountry Cottonwoods GORE-TEX Shell Jacket (which is available in men’s and women’s sizes) was featured in Switchback Travel’s “Women’s Ski Jackets We Love.”
It’s easy to see why: It’s got a 2-layer GORE-TEX ePE membrane that’s free of PFAS, a soft recycled lining that aids in moisture management, and angled underarm zips that provide fast ventilation during ski runs and other activities.
Other cool features include an articulated fit that leaves room for layering on bitterly cold days, and wrist gaiters, powder skirt, and adjustable hood that help protect you from snow and wind.
Heat Holders Women’s Hensley Embossed Hybrid Jacket
Speaking of layering, the Women’s Hensley Embossed Hybrid Jacket from Heat Holders is a versatile, lightweight option built for those days when the weather changes at the drop of a hat.
The unique embossed exterior is a water-resistant woven shell that helps block wind and light moisture, with stretchy fleece sleeves and side panels that flex with your body to flatter your form.
Inside, it has a lightweight synthetic fill and ultra-soft HeatWeaver lining that collaborate to retain body heat and keep your core warm. There’s also a soft neck guard that provides protection when fully zipped.
We love that it has four zippered pockets (two inside for essentials, two outside for hand-warming), and a streamlined side panel construction that cuts a sleek silhouette.
Gordini MTN Crew Artist Mitts & BUFF Protect Our Winters Pack
Living in North Georgia, heavy duty gloves are not something we often need for Winter. But when we visit the higher elevations of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the intensely cold winds hit VERY differently!
Gordini’s MTN Crew Artist Mitts feature cool heat-embossed designs by renowned environmental artists such as Jordan Kendall Parks and Zoe Malee.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, Malee’s Snowflake Crystals Mitts for women are stylish and functional, made with waterproof/windproof CLUTCH synthetic leather, 600-fill Downtek insulation, and a neoprene short cuff.
BUFF’s Protect Our Winter Packs are another cool collaboration, featuring an eye-catching, artist-designed 4-way stretch BUFF made with 58% recycled content and a pro-conservation message, plus a matching ribbed knit Rutger beanie made with 30% recycled content.
CAMP COOKING GEAR
Weber Smokey Joe Charcoal Grill 14″ Bundle
One of our favorite things about spending time on our houseboat is the tempting smells that often waft over from the campground at our marina. There’s just nothing like the smell of cooking over an open fire!
Weber’s Smokey Joe Charcoal Grill 14″ Bundle package has verything you need to cook an amazing meal while camping, including a portable grill, grilling tools, and their Rapidfire Compact Chimney Starter.
The lightweight, 14″ wide grill is big enough to hold 5 burgers, with a porcelain-enameled to retain heat (and resist cracking/peeling), a top damper for precise heat control, and an ash catcher for easy cleanup.
We love that the whole set packs down into the Premium Carry Bag for easy transport, making it great for picnics and other outdoor travel adventures.
MSR Trail Lite Duo Cook Set
Formally known as Mountain Safety Research, MSR was founded in Seattle in 1969 by Larry Penberthy with one core mission in mind: To improve the safety and quality of climbing equipment and other outdoor gear.
We’ve been huge fans of their tents (particularly their lightweight tents for backpackers) for years, but they’re also known for high quality water filters and purifiers, camp stoves, and other camp cooking gear.
Their lightweight Trail Lite Duo Cook Set weighs in at just 21 ounces. It includes a 2-liter nonstick aluminum pot, clear strainer lid, two double-wall insulated mugs, and two DeepDish bowls, all nested into a compact 5.5 by 6.25-inch package.
The mugs also have enough room to store MSR’s folding utensils or small camp stoves, which are sold separately.
Platypus QuickDraw 2L Filter System
I learned the importance of access to fresh drinking water the hard way early on in life.
At age 15 I suffered a mild heat stroke due to dehydration on a summer field trip to the Okefenokee Swamp, and a few years later I got a terrible case of dysentery after drinking unfiltered water from a stream in Cloudland Canyon State Park.
The Platypus QuickDraw 2L Filter System offers an ultralight (5.7 oz) portable solution, filtering 3 liters of water per minute with squeeze pressure and 1.75 liters per minute in a gravity setup.
Each of their filters is individually tested to meet all EPA & NSF guidelines, removing 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.9% of protozoa. And it’s easy to connect to Smartwater bottles and hydration reservoirs for quick refills in camp.
Titan by Arctic Zone 48-Can Zipperless Hardbody Cooler
Remember the days when hard-sided coolers were all made of metal, almost as large as a safari trunk, and weighed so much you needed two people to carry a full one? My, how times have changed!
The Titan 48-Can Zipperless HardBody Cooler (which also comes in 3 smaller sizes) measures 20″ x 13″ x 12.5″ and weights just 4.35 pounds empty. Yet its Deep Freeze Performance Insulation allows it keep things cold for up to 3 days.
It’s got room for up to 48 cans, with an insulated front pocket, a removable HardBody liner, and a nifty SmartShelf feature that allows you to keep you soft stuff (like food) separate from the hard stuff (like cans and bottles).
Other cool features include their patented “flip-open” Zipperless lid, a 3-layer ColdBlock base that offers superior cooling, and a Backsaver shoulder strap with anti-slip shoulder pad that helps to center load weight for a more comfortable carry.
Katadyn Optimus Crux Lite Solo Cook System & BeFree AC 1L Microfilter
Mary and I have never been into long backpacking treks and multiple days of camping in the wilderness. But for those who are, pack weight and water supply are two major concerns.
The Katadyn Optimus Crux Lite Solo Cook System is a great little camp cooking bundle that won’t weigh you down. At just 10.5oz, it includes a tiny Crux Lite stove and a Terra Solo Cook Set– a pot with a pour spot and a fry pan that doubles as a pot lid. The mesh bag is also big enough to hold a small gas cartridge.
Their BeFree AC 1L Microfilter was recently named Best Grab & Go Backpacking Water Filter by Gear Junkie because it adds activated carbon to their EZClean membrane, which helps to filter out the funky tastes of bad water. Filtering this way takes a little longer, but it’s great if you need to dip and sip along the trail!
MISC CAMPING/HIKING GEAR
OGO Origin Compost Toilet
As someone who has spent a fair amount of time living and traveling off grid, I have lots of experience with having to pee and poop in the woods. Now that we spend half our time on a houseboat, the idea of an electric composting toilet seems genius.
The tiny (16″W x 15″D x 18-3/8″H), eco-friendly OGO Compost Toilet is made for RVs and boats. This 12V unit can be mounted directly to the floor and separates urine and solids into separate compartments, using a dry medium such as coconut pith or sphagnum peat moss to turn the solids into compost.
We love that it has a built-in sensor to indicate when the 2.4-gallon urine bottle is full, and that the solids been can last up to 30 uses before needing to be emptied. It’s also nice that toilet paper can go into the solids bin, but biodegradable is best.
Your guests will love that the unit has a small fan to pull excess moisture and odor from the toilet into an outward vent, so there’s no lingering smells to speak of!
York Nordic Motivator Super Duty Walking Poles & Super Duty Swift Connect Travel Poles
Keep Going First Aid Super Kit & Pet First Aid Kit
Between hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the copious time we spend boating on Lake Allatoona, we’ve learned that having First Aid kits on hand is ALWAYS a good idea.
From minor cuts and scrapes to more serious wounds and allergic reactions (see: our dog stirring up an in-ground yellowjackets nest on the trail), having the essentials to tend wounds on hand can save you a trip to Urgent Care later.
Keep Going First Aid offers many different kits to choose from, all of which come in a variety of colorful, water-resistant, TSA-approved carry cases. The 270-piece SuperKit is our favorite, because it has everything you’ll ever need for typical camping and hiking-related injuries.
But we also love their new Pet First Aid Kit, which includes essentials such as a tick remover, paw cream, paw booties, reflective bandana, collapsible bowl, styptic powder, wrap, and much more.
4Knines Rear Seat Cover For Fold Down Seats w/Hammock Mesh
We’ve always loved taking our dogs along on our hiking adventures, but we didn’t love the dirt and mud they’d inevitably leave on the light tan upholstery of our Hyundai Elantra.
At 54″ wide, it’s designed to fit cars, SUVs, and even small trucks, and made with durable, waterproof K9-Shield (a special textile laminate), which is machine washable and has a non-stick backing to prevent the cover from moving around.
We love their patented double L-shape zipper design, which allows access to seat belts, latch anchors, and fold-down seats, as well as the hammock mesh window that lets heat or A/C come through from the front.
Demerbox DB2 Speaker
We’re generally not big fans of folks who blast their music in public natural spaces, whether on the hiking trail, around the campsite, on the lake, or otherwise.
But for those who enjoy their music at a reasonable volume that respects both the sanctity of nature and the rights of those who savor its peace and quiet, the Demerbox DB2 Speaker is an amazing option.
These rugged, waterproof bluetooth speakers are cleverly made from durable Pelican cases, which come in 10 standard color options and one customizable “Build Your Own” option (for just $10 more).
Charged via USB-C, these speakers offer terrific sound in a 10.62” x 9.68” x 6.87”, 5.44 lbs package, which also has room to store your wallet, phone, keys, and other small valuables! –reviews by Bret Love & Mary Gabbett
