Help Western NC Stores by Shopping Online (Jackson Co Edition)

Since Hurricane Helene devastated North Carolina in late September, we’ve received hundreds of requests on our Facebook page to create a guide to Western NC stores that offer online shopping.

We always try to shop small businesses when we travel, because for every $1 you spend at a small business, around 67¢ stays in the local economy!

And with Helene wreaking havoc right as Western North Carolina stores were ramping up for peak Fall leaf-peeping season, many businesses are desperate for revenue to make up for immense losses.

With Christmas coming up, you can support NC by buying gifts from North Carolina. So we’re assembling county-by-county guides to all the Western North Carolina shopping options available online.

Next up is Jackson County NC, whose exceptional array of restaurants, shops, historic sites, cultural traditions, and natural attractions make it one of our favorite parts of the state.

Read on for our guide to 25 Shops in Cashiers, Cherokee, Dillsboro and Sylva that offer online shopping, including everything from fashion boutiques and art galleries to bath & beauty, jewelry, and more!

Leave No Trace logo

We encourage anyone who loves the Blue Ridge region to learn about the Leave No Trace principles of responsible environmental stewardship.

Stay on marked trails, take only pictures, pack out your trash, and be considerate of others who share the trails and parks you explore.

Remember that waterfalls and rocky summits can be dangerous. Never try to climb waterfalls or get close to a ledge to get a selfie.

When you're exploring the wilderness, it's better to be safe than to be a statistic!

Although Chelsea is a native Texan, her heart is in Appalachia. As a child, she traveled with her grandparents every year to visit family across the Cumberland Gap and Blue Ridge regions. She spent these summer trips chasing fireflies, hiking trails, absorbing history, and enjoying the quiet calm of the woods. She is an Appalachian State University student majoring in Communications Studies, and hoping to make it to Boone one day to see her school in person.
