Its name was inspired by Elk Creek, the stocked trout stream that runs directly behind the Blowing Rock rental cabin. So as you can imagine, this is a very popular rental for fishermen!

There’s one bedroom and two bathrooms, and up to four guests can sleep comfortably between the king-sized bed and sleeper sofa.

A full kitchen awaits to assist with all your cooking needs, and there’s a stone gas fireplace that creates a cozy atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

There’s also another cabin located on this property, which can be rented in conjunction with this one. So this rental is great for either a quiet romantic getaway for two or possibly a multi-family vacation.

When you approach the Blowing Rock cabin rental, you’re warmly welcomed by the bears “Beulah” and “Buford,” which were hand-carved from western ponderosa pine by Chris Smart. 

Created by a professional interior designer, the entire bungalow has unique features and decor. There’s leather upholstery, coordinated colors and fabrics, solid wood tables, and even “hibernating bear” end tables.

The cabin offers one bedroom, one bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. There’s also a living area with a wood-burning fireplace, 32″ HDTV, and a Bose surround sound entertainment system.


From the living area, you can walk through the French doors to find yourself on a large private deck where you can enjoy soaking in the hot tub, cooking on the grill, or just relaxing in the seating area. 

There’s also a fenced backyard, which is great for travelers with pets. Just keep in mind that the owners ask that only mature dogs weighing under 15 pounds are brought along for the trip.

While the heating system keeps the cabin nice and warm, the living area also has a wood-burning stove for those extra chilly nights. 

This 2-story Blowing Rock cabin rental has a king-sized bedroom and full bath downstairs, with a queen-sized loft bedroom and half bath upstairs.


One of our favorite areas of the cabin is the screened-in back porch.

It provides the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening as you entertain yourself with Appalachian Folklore stories.

Both bedrooms are queen-sized, and there’s one full bath located off the main level hallway and one half-bath located off of the main level bedroom.


Outside, the private deck features a hot tub right above the meandering stream. There’s also a fire pit nearby that’s perfect for making s’mores. Firewood and a fire starter are provided. 

If you want to venture off the property, the Mountain-to-Sea Trail can be accessed via a short hike through the forest from the cottage. Appalachian Ski Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Beech Mountain are all just a short drive away.
